Wedding Week Tips and Tricks
Create a designated bag/container to hold your emergency kit & personal items the day of
Set aside all your detail items (vow books, rings, etc.) to hand to your photographer first thing
Try on your full wedding day ensemble to make sure everything feels good
Break in your shoes and/or plan to switch into another pair for your reception
Apply chapstick regularly (consider keeping it in your day-of kit)
Submit your final shot list
Drink lots of water leading up to and the day of
Reach out to all your vendors and share your final timeline to ensure they are all know the plan for the day of
Package up any gifts you’ll be giving on your wedding day (bridesmaids, parents, significant others, etc.)
Practice bussling your dress with two trusted loved ones
Check in with wedding party members (confirm arrival times & outfit details)
Practice your vows out loud - run them through at least once to calm the nerves and work through any hiccups
Rest up as much as you can and enjoy this transitional time together before your big day!
Wedding Week Don’ts
Don’t skip meals- you may want to look a certain way on your big day, but feeling your very best is much more important!
Don’t leave writing your vows until the last minute - there is nothing more stressful than trying to copy your vows by hand right before the ceremony
Don’t underestimate how long it takes to get ready- you want plenty of time to make sure you and your party can get ready without the stress of rushing or feeling like you’re keeping people waiting
Don’t forget to get your marriage license in order and ready for the big day
Wedding Day Tips and Tricks:
Try to keep the bridal suite tidy for getting ready photos
Use the restroom & reapply deodorant before putting on your full outfit
Remind your groom, groomsmen, male family members to take their phones and wallets out of their pockets prior the ceremony & photos
Stay hydrated! Drink a glass of water in between each glass of champagne
Assign someone the task of grabbing your gifts, cards, and decorations at the end of the night
Hand off your phone to someone special and assign them the duty of capturing behind-the-scenes photos throughout the day
Have your maid of honor/best man give you a last minute look over before walking down the aisle (teeth, makeup, etc.)
Hold your bouquet at your belly button and smile as you walk down the aisle
Tell your maid of honor to straighten your train when you get up to the altar & pull the officiant aside for the first kiss
Kiss for several seconds at a time - hold it for a moment longer than you think
Set aside some time for just the two of you to soak it all in together
Wedding Day Don’ts
Don’t forget to stay hydrated- your wedding day can be busy and drinking enough water is a sure-fire way to make sure you have enough energy to keep up!
Don’t drink heavily the night before your wedding or drink too much too early the day-of
Don’t wear a bra the morning of your wedding - avoid impressions showing once your dress is on
Don’t turn towards the officiant during the ceremony- not only do you probably want to be looking into your soon to be spouse’s eyes, but it will cause your face to be hidden in pictures
Don’t be afraid to kiss more than once
Don’t sweat the small stuff & don’t forget to take time to enjoy it all with the love of your life
