Dhrupad & Pratyusha | Grand Canyon Engagement

Dhrupad and Pratyusha are two adventurous souls who came together in a relationship that made it clear they were truly best friends and a perfect match. They were total sweethearts, poking fun and eachother and laughing throughout our whole session together. I could relate to their relationship as partners in that it was a friendship above all else, and their love and elation just to be together was palpable.

Dhrupad reached out to me and filled me in on the plans that they had made for their trip and that they would stay at Under Canvas Grand Canyon. Dhrupad also included that he planned on making this trip truly one for the books by proposing! He actually proposed to Pratyusha the day  before our session so that the two of them could have a truly private and present moment. For our session the next day I met them at Bright Angel Trail, and as they had been exploring the Grand Canyon quite a bit on their trip so far they were very trusting in letting me lead them around from spot to spot. Dhrupad and Pratyusha had hiked the Bright Angel Trail the day before their proposal, so going back there to really celebrate the joy they were feeling post-proposal created a sweet 48-hour full circle moment.

We sprayed champagne, took photos of Pratyusha showing off her new ring, and the couple’s excited, fun-loving personalities definitely shined through. We also happened to stumble upon some elk while we were out on the trail, and it was both of their first times seeing them up close, which was a fun moment I was able to capture for them.

We spent a while walking and hiking along the trail, epic views being revealed to us around every turn, and had a fantastic time together as we braved the brisk, blustery weather. Dhrupad and Pratyusha wore ear to ear smiles the entire time, and their warm and upbeat disposition was infectious and made for both sweet photos of the couple and a beautiful evening.
